Ken Dixon was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 3rd round of the 1980 MLB June Amateur Draft. His major league debut was on September 22, 1984 for the Orioles against the Boston Red Sox. He pitched 6 innings, allowed 7 hits, struck out 3, walked 4, allowed 3 earned runs and got the loss. The 1987 season would be in last in the major leagues. He was traded to the Seattle Mariners on December 9, 1987 for pitcher Mike Morgan but would never pitch for the Mariners.
