Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Juan Nieves was selected the American League Player of the Week for the week ending April 19, 1987. Nieves improved to 2-0 on the season with a no-hitter against the Baltimore Orioles. It was the first no-hitter in Milwaukee Brewers history. This is Nieves' 1st and only Player of the Week Award.
